EnVision Center (Tempe Cooling Center)
Tempe's primary 2026 summer cooling center. Open daily 12:00pm-8:00pm through September 30. Walk-up; no eligibility check. Free drinking water, air-conditioned respite, restrooms. Maricopa County co-funded with City of Tempe specifically as a downtown-corridor cooling site for people experiencing homelessness or without reliable AC at home.

Salvation Army Tempe Corps
Tempe Citadel Corps community center. Programs may include food assistance, utility bill help, family services, youth programs, and seasonal assistance. Activates as heat-relief station 11am-5pm daily on Excessive Heat Warning days (May-Sept). Call ahead to confirm currently available programs and intake requirements — specific service offerings vary; this is the primary contact point for Salvation Army services in Tempe.

TCAA Rent & Utility Assistance
One-time emergency rent and utility bill assistance for eligible Tempe households. Tempe Community Action Agency. Call for current eligibility window and required documentation.
TCAA SNAP Enrollment Assistance
Free help applying for SNAP (food stamps). Tempe Community Action Agency staff assist with application, documentation, and renewal.
Tempe HOPE Outreach Team (CARE-HOPE Line)
City of Tempe Homeless Outreach Program Effort (HOPE). Citywide street outreach and resource navigation for people experiencing homelessness in Tempe. 24/7 phone line at (480) 350-8004 — primary intake for shelter referrals (including Sue's Espacio), case management, and connection to TCAA / I-HELP / city housing services.
