Student-led food pantry serving ASU students; distributes fresh produce, rescued groceries, and toiletries at no cost. Tempe campus distributions hosted at First United Methodist Church. Eligibility: ASU students (any campus); RSVP for distribution events on the pantry website. Twice-weekly distributions at the Tempe campus.
St. Vincent de Paul — Our Lady of Mt. Carmel (Tempe)
Tempe SVdP chapter hosted by Our Lady of Mt. Carmel parish. Food assistance available by appointment. Call during intake hours (M-F 9:00am-11:00am). Serves Tempe residents in the parish boundary area.

EnVision Center (Tempe Cooling Center)
Tempe's primary 2026 summer cooling center. Open daily 12:00pm-8:00pm through September 30. Walk-up; no eligibility check. Free drinking water, air-conditioned respite, restrooms. Maricopa County co-funded with City of Tempe specifically as a downtown-corridor cooling site for people experiencing homelessness or without reliable AC at home.

Salvation Army Tempe Corps
Tempe Citadel Corps community center. Programs may include food assistance, utility bill help, family services, youth programs, and seasonal assistance. Activates as heat-relief station 11am-5pm daily on Excessive Heat Warning days (May-Sept). Free help applying for SNAP (food stamps). Tempe Community Action Agency staff assist with application, documentation, and renewal.
Tempe HOPE Outreach Team (CARE-HOPE Line)
City of Tempe Homeless Outreach Program Effort (HOPE). Citywide street outreach and resource navigation for people experiencing homelessness in Tempe. 24/7 phone line at (480) 350-8004 — primary intake for shelter referrals (including Sue's Espacio), case management, and connection to TCAA / I-HELP / city housing services. Same line reaches CARE 7 24/7 crisis response (dispatched via 911 for domestic violence, accidents, suicides, other traumatic incidents). Email: HOPE@tempe.gov. Shelter
East Valley Senior Home Sharing Program
Connects seniors with extra rooms to seniors needing housing. Operated by Tempe Community Action Agency. Eligibility: seniors (55+).
I-HELP Emergency Shelter (intake via TCAA)
Tempe Interfaith Homeless Emergency Lodging Program. Overnight shelter rotated weekly through partner congregations across Tempe. Intake is by phone — DO NOT walk up to the address; this is the program's administrative office. Call to ask about tonight's host site and eligibility.
Sue's Espacio Bridge Shelter (City of Tempe)
City-owned 40-room bridge shelter on Apache Blvd (former Rodeway Inn, opened 2021, named for advocate Sue Ringler). Operated by City of Tempe Housing Services. Intake is by referral via the HOPE outreach team or partner orgs — DO NOT walk up. On-site amenities for residents include laundry facilities, hygiene supplies, occasional hot meals, and a dog park. Mountain Park Health Center — Tempe Clinic
Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving Tempe with sliding-scale primary care. Services: pediatrics, adult medicine, WIC (Women, Infants, and Children nutrition program), and dental. Accepts AHCCCS (Arizona Medicaid). Hours: Mon-Thu 7:30am-8:00pm; Fri 7:30am-6:30pm. Dental Mon-Fri 8am-5pm. WIC Mon/Tue/Thu/Fri 8am-5pm; Wed 8am-8pm. Walk-in and appointment.
